Support Our Congregation

Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair Giving Guide*

Our current budget of approximately $600,000 is primarily met through the generosity of all who participate in our faith community. Since each congregant is at a different place financially, we ask everyone to seriously consider the idea of giving 5% of their income to support the mission of our congregation. For many congregants, 5% is not a problem and they can easily reach or surpass this level of commitment. For others, such a goal may be difficult. If so, we ask them to start their initial pledge at 3% and increase that amount each year until 5% is comfortably reached. If you can afford to pledge more than 5%, you will help others who are unable to do so. When considering your pledge, please be as generous as you are able. All our gifts benefit the mission we so openly serve together—helping seek the truth, beauty, justice and compassion in all of us.

Your pledge should be significant, meaningful and generous by your own definition. Ask yourself, “Is this pledge a true expression of my values and my commitment to our congregation?”

*Pledging is a commitment of UUCM membership. However, in case of financial hardship, waivers can be granted by the ministers. Friends (non-members who pledge) will receive UUCM communications such as our newsletter The Gazette.
