A mission statement is meant to describe our identity to ourselves and the community by describing who we are and what we stand for. The Board of Trustees is excited to announce that they have adopted a PROPOSED Mission Statement for full congregational adoption. This Statement is a result of the work of the Mission and Vision Task Force, a sub-team of the Strategic Planning Team. It is based on the input of the congregation from surveys and meetings held during the Interim period and since the kick-off of the strategic planning process in May 2018. There were several rounds of revision within the Task Force and the Board as each word, phrase and comma was considered with deep thought and discussion. The congregation will be asked to vote on the adoption of this Statement, as written, in 2019: Grounded in faith, we come together to nurture the soul, inspire hope, and bring into being a more just and loving world. You are welcome to share this proposed statement with others inside and outside of the congregation, and please be sure to refer to it as “proposed” if you do so.
