MFEE (Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence) invites you to their free virtual event on Sunday which is part of MFEE’s America to Me: Real Talk Initiative.
On Sunday, June 14, 2020 from 2:30 – 4 PM, MFEE is hosting an online event to deepen our racial literacy and to reflect on issues of race and equity in our schools. Coming Together: America to Me Real Talk Montclair will feature Dr. Bettina Love, award-winning author of We Want to Do More Than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom and Associate Professor of Educational Theory & Practice at the University of Georgia. Dr. Love’s remarks will be followed by a panel discussion with subjects from the America to Me film series – a documentary series that examines racial inequities through the eyes of teens in a Chicago suburban high school that looks and feels a lot like Montclair High. The program will include spoken word and singing by Montclair High School students Destiny Davis and Jaden Walker.
